FLAT COURTNEY
ADVENTURES IN
HERSHEY, PA

A little warmer today than yesterday, but it was raining.
Today was a holiday ~ Veteran's Day ~ and Connie did not
have to go to work. She and I went to visit her friend, Sue.

When we arrived at Sue's house, the smell of lasagna filled the
air! YUMMMMMMMM!!!!! Sue was making pies when we walked in her
house. She let me help!

Here are some links to recipes that you and your family
may enjoy which are popular in Pennsylvania:

CHICKEN CORN SOUP
*This is a favorite at all times as well at church suppers.
There's no explaining the rivels ~ you have to try it!

SHOO FLY PIE
*We had this at Thanksgiving! It's a favorite of Connie's boys!

POT PIE
*Nothing beats homemade noodles!

I also learned about a dance they enjoy here
in Pennsylvania. Perhaps you have heard of it.
The dance is called the Polka.
Pennsylvanians enjoy dancing the Polka so much that
there is a special Polka called "The Pennsylvania Polka".
To hear the music and sing along, click the word "Polka"
which is underlined above.

POSTCARD ~ CHOCOLATE AVENUE, HERSHEY, PENNSYLVANIA

It was raining today, so we didn't get to go outside much.
I hope you enjoy this postcard. When it rains, you can smell
the chocolate in the air! That was a nice treat without all
the sugar!
