great adventure, but first, let me tell you a little
bit about myself.
I was in bed, and the top bunk fell on me. How it happened,
I have no idea. Now, everyone calls me "Flat Courtney".
A pupil in Mrs. Ruble's Third Grade Class decided to send
me to Hershey, Pennsylvania, so I could find out about the
area and report back to them. I only have a few weeks to
complete my mission! Through the following webpages, you
can follow me on my journey ~ from my arrival in Hershey
to being stuffed back in an envelope and returned to
Mrs. Ruble's class.
OK, GUYS!!! HERE GOES!!!!
I arrived in Chocolatetown, USA (better known as Hershey, PA)
on Monday, November 10, 2003. Hershey is located in South Central
Pennsylvania. It was bitter cold hanging around
in the mailbox until someone came home. I think the temperature
was 35 degrees Fahrenheit. BURRRRRRRRRRR!
Finally! Someone let me go into the house to warm up!
I discovered I was actually in the Village of Union Deposit.
I will show you pictures and give you some background on "UD" later (Click
the underlined words "Village of Union Deposit" to see the Village).
Maybe now I can start my "Chocolatetown" Adventure!
Pennsylvania is one (1) of four (4) Commonwealth states in the
United States. Can you name the other three (3)? I can! They are:
Kentucky, Massachusetts and Virginia! Also, many 'places' in
Pennsylvania are divided into villages, townships or boroughs.
But that's a social studies lesson best saved for another time!
YIKES! They have a BIG dog! A Labrador Retriever named Thunder.
She's 13 years old and is very nice ~ especially to small, flat things...
I am getting ready to read "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis,
with my host, Connie. Her Sunday School class is reading and discussing this book
series. She is reading 4 different books at the moment. It seems like she enjoys
reading!
