Hershey, Pennsylvania, is not only known as
Chocolatetown, USA, it's motto is "The Sweetest Place On Earth",
and it IS THE SWEETEST PLACE ON EARTH!!
At Chocolate World, you can see a 3D movie, take a
ride that explains how the chocolate is made (from the
cocoa bean to the store) and it even takes you through
a pretend-oven! The factory was closed to tourists over
20 years ago. I suppose it had something to do with that
not being very sanitary.
In Chocolate World, there are all
sorts of souvenirs, snack stands, a restaurant and all the
candy and other products made by Hershey are for sale.
There are even banana trees
growing in the center of
Chocolate World!
HersheyPark is a HUGE Family Amusement Theme Park. It is right
next to Chocolate World, connected by sidewalks. The actual park
is closed until spring, but the fun doesn't end. The month of October
features "HersheyPark in the Dark". There are rides and entertainment
as well as a tour through Zoo America, which is part of the park. From
November through the middle of January, "CandyLane" is featured.
There are lights and decorations and rides for the kids. This year,
Hershey Entertainment and Resorts bought Dutch WonderLand which
is located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
The nice York Peppermint Pattie was out greeting
everyone and let Connie take a picture of me and "Pattie".
